London Cornish could not disguise a lack of available pace on a bone hard pitch as they go down 38-31 in Counties 1 Surrey/Sussex on Saturday. Though leading at the break, two quick tries after half-time see the exiles surrender a lead they were not to regain, though the outcome of the match was in doubt right up to the final whistle. Points scorers on the day were Mark Lockhart with 1 try (pictured scoring), 4 penalties and 2 conversions (a prodigious first game with the boot) while George Bromage and Dan Phoenix also crossed the whitewash. Worryingly, Cornish suffered more 1st half concussions as tacklers once again suffered in favour of the ball carrier. Photos to follow shortly.
